What in the world is a 'First English Lutheran'?

We are a vibrant and diverse community of believers, journeying together in discipleship.  We are an historic, downtown congregation with roots that stretch back to 1832.  We are a gathering of Christians grounded in Lutheran traditions.  We are a family of disciples striving to maturity in Jesus Christ.

Come explore our website and find out more about what we believe, when we gather to worship, and figure out who that leader is that you saw on Sunday.

And oh - our name reflects a decision the congregation made in 1850 to change their language of worship from German to English, which is a good thing, because very few of us speak German any more, and we gave up preaching in German a long time ago!
