Ministries of FELC

  • Monthly Produce Distribution (April – November, second Tuesday from 10:30am till 12:30pm) – A team of volunteers meets to prepare produce supplied by The Greater Cleveland Food Bank. This distribution reaches about 150 families per month.
  • Bare Necessities Room – Our church and ELC families donate designated monthly “bare necessity” items that are then given to those in need in our community.
  • Wednesday Lunch –  A free meal is served the first and third Wednesdays of each month to our local community.  A brief devotional and music begins at 12:15, followed by a 12:30 lunch.
  • Communion for our Home Bound Members – A number of communion deacons regularly take communion to our home bound members. Once every month, communion deacons visit local nursing homes and offer communion during a brief worship service.
  • Daily Bread Meals – Meals are provided for those who have just been released from the hospital.
  • Funeral Dinners – Funeral meals are provided for grieving families. Members donate salads, casseroles, and desserts for these meals while the main dish is provided by the Women’s Ministry Group.
  • Prayer Chain – The prayer chain is set in motion when someone requests prayer for themselves or another person.
  • Christmas Candy Packing for Home Bound members – Candies are packaged by our Women’s Ministry group for our home bound members of the church. They are then delivered by our Communion Deacons.
  • The Women’s Bible Study sends out Christmas and Valentine cards and gifts to our college students and college-age military members.
  • In May, we give each high school graduate a hand-made quilt as well as another nice gift from Women’s Ministry to honor their graduation.
  • Stamps Project – Postage stamps are collected, packaged and mailed to New York where they are used to provide occupational therapy to improve the lives of handicapped persons throughout the world.
  • Prayer Shawl Ministry – People who enjoy crocheting and knitting make prayer shawls and fleece blankets for people facing health issues, grief, or celebrating a birth!
  • Luther Fellowship – Our retired age members meet once a month for fellowship and a fun activity.  Please check our monthly Visitor newsletter to confirm the date and time.
  • Senior Boxes – If you are 60+ and qualify as low income, please register to receive a box of food on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 10:30 till 12:30pm.  Pick up is in the large parking lot at the corner of Park Avenue and Mulberry Street.
